Information Systems Management and Strategy

The course is offered as a freestanding course.

Course description

The aim of the course is that the student, upon course completion, has an understanding of processes, methodologies, techniques and tools for ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness in IS service delivery. The student shall be able to implement strategic plans for delivery and use of organizational information systems and ensure that those systems comply with policies, applicable laws and regulations.

The goal is also that the student shall be able to create plans for IT procurement, workforce development, training, and IT employee retention. Furthermore the student shall be able to use governance frameworks, such as TOGAF, to align information systems with organizational requirements.

The following areas will be covered:

  • Strategic planning
  • Alignment of IS and organization on different levels
  • IS workforce development
  • IS governance frameworks
  • IS service delivery
