Our forthcoming research masterclass with Josefine Hellroth Larsson will lead us to continue challenging our long-term debate on what it means to use free and open knowledge sources such as Wikipedia. With the arrival of ChatGPT, we know that the challenges are getting greater, and that we need to learn to navigate with them rather than reject them.

Josefine will be speaking to us about Wikimedia platforms (eg. Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons) and their inclusion in education. Particular examples of investigating the role of Wikimedia platforms in a societal or system context, including the trust in the platforms and how organizations make use of the platforms in their everyday work (i.e. how museums upload images of their art work on Wikimedia Commons, reaching millions of digital visitors), will also be presented.
